The Sylvans had their first gig before they had a band, so four friends with a common love for all things up-beat and rockin' quickly got together and started rehearsing their own brand of radio-friendly pop-rock (imagine The Strokes backing Weezer). A focus on infectious melodies and energetic live sets helped the band secure more shows and soon The Sylvans were playing regularly at many of Atlanta's best indie-clubs, including The Drunken Unicorn, Lenny's and The EARL. 2009 saw the release of the band's first EP, "The Way It Ended".
