Originally formed back in 1999, The Takers gained early recognition for our onstage antics (including taking the stage in black masks and vanquishing opening acts) and our heavy, fast, and original style of punk rock. After one recording and a couple years of giging internal problems with the drummer and family issues forced the band to break up.
But the world would not allow us to stay defunct for long! Drummer Mike, who was in another band that the takers played with, approached us and said that if all we needed was a drummer that he would play and we should reform the band. Triumphantly we have returned. After our first revial show at the Brighton Bar, Jacko the promoter confided in us that the whole world wanted the takers back; Be carefull what you wish for!
