THE TAKETONES
The Take Tones is a New York, USA- based band that was formed in 2009 when guitarist/synth player Tommy White put on an online add looking for a singer/songwriter that would join him in his music writing and performance.
Soon enough, Der was writing lyrics and cutting vocals to Bloodsucker, their first single that was recorded and finished before they had played even a single show.
Before the music spilled far from their heads, they released “This Scene,” their first EP that was ready by the end of 2009.
The Take Tones sound is aggressive, tight, and includes different layers where the bass and the drums are always setting a danceable atmosphere that’s topped by robotic synth riffs showing the influence of Gary Numan.
Their rock sound combined with electronic synthesizers, stamps their unique post 90s sound, and if you catch them live around the New York City music circuit, you’ll get a view of the back to basics post punk attitude of the Strokes shared with the energy of the Sex Pistols.
The Take Tones have released their first record “From the Darkest Room” in July 1st 2011
