"The Talks"

Another act you really owe it to yourself to know sooner than later are THE TALKS. A reggae/ska/indie band from Hull that are a whole lot better than that sounds. About as far away from the Ordinary Boys opportunistic take on 80’s Ska as you could get, this is genuine, edgy and refreshing – doesn’t sound like anyone else whilst not sounding unfamiliar – a very, very good sign indeed." - ICA MAGAZINE, Scotland (Feb 2007)

"The Talks in 10 foot"

"An infectious and playful mix of ska reggae and good old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll, which is all evident on the upbeat ska driven "Teachers" or the laid-back, but upbeat, reggae stylings of the swaggering "Kids In Town"."
- TEN FOOT CITY MAGAZINE (Dec 2006)

"talking to the Talks"

"The Sound of The Talks is very distinctive, Combining the raw, smashing power of punk with grinding rhythms of reggae and the energy of ska plus a good dose of pop sensibilities. but don't be fooled into thinking of the insipid Ordinary Boys and the like: We are talking about the real deal"

- SANDMAN MAGAZINE (March 2007)

Bio

The Talks formed in July 2006 after Jody and Pat spent six months writing and recording together in a stinking bedroom studio. The band began touring in October joined by Iain Allen on bass and Richie Lovelock aka Titch on drums.

With the new songs The Talks have been touring the UK playing alongside Neville Staple from The Specials, The Beat, The Maccabees, Reverend and the Makers, The Vibrators, and The Tenderbox at some of the UKs worst and best venues, and festivals incl Glastonbury and the Carling Weekend, Leeds leading the Talks to have a brilliant Live reputation around the UK and very solid fanbase which is reflected in the possitive comments and the consistantly high level of plays and profile hits on the bands Myspace. They have also received great comments from the likes of Alan Mcgee, Neville Staple and Ranking Roger, and were made top friend of Radio 1 dj Chris Moyles, and recieved much radio support from Steve Lamac.
