Lyrics

"Your Love's a Whirlwind

Written By: Drake Busby 2007

I'm standing on the property line of the vision that was yours and mine, and now there's nothing to see.

You always said that love was free, but yours was always a little too free for me; you gave it away to everybody but me, and now there's a dream that will never be.

Well, there's nothing but a vacant field now, and for the life of me I'll never know how I allowed you to do this to me. And yeah, you did this to me.

Oh, I feel the winds still blowin', see the lies and deceit you're sowin', your love's a whirlwind, and I'm desolate now. Well there's an eerie wind still moaning, and I hear our unborn future groaning; you've fucked me for the last time, and I'm living in the calm before the next storm.

With every song that I still hear I hear your whispers in my ear, the ghosts of road trips and adventures past.

Still feel you reach across to hold my hand as we drove across uncharted land you said, "Stop living in the past. I'm the one that's gonna last."

I should have known it would never last. Common sense said things were moving too fast. The winds were blowing way too fast.

Market Square

Written By: Drake Busby 2007

You said you hide behind your God because you don't know who you are. With gorgeous hair and perfect feet to impress the men you'd meet.

You've made up demons in your mind, because the truth you've yet to find. At home at war and in a strife, because you think it brings balance to your life.

With sleepy eyes you left my bed with a battle raging in your head. Off to fight imaginary hells as you heard the calling of the chapel bells.

And the drummers there in market square played on in the city twilight. We all stepped back and we looked around, in awe of the majesty that we'd found. There's another realm and another life where there's only peace and there is no strife. Where's there's only peace and there is no strife.

With cigarrette ash on the sidewalk there, you held my hand as we walked to the square; "I'm tired of fighting this war in my mind." "I'm tired of fights that have no end to find."

From my window we looked at the suits in their plight, walking to castles to fight the good fight. We opted to stay in a higher place there, with clothes in the corner, and with white sheets to wear.

Then as the sun rose and as night skies turned blue, you said "I'm not fighting to find God; I'm just fighting for you."

And the drummers there in market square played on in the city twilight. We all stepped back and we looked around in awe of the majesty that we'd found. There's another realm and another life where there's only peace and there is no strife. Where there's only peace and there is no strife.

Yes you do

Written By: Drake Busby 2006

Well you say that you don't belong to me. Standing on wooden steps in the blinding sun, you say that we were never meant to be. You say that our love had lost it's fun.

On sleepless nights in parking lots when when you let me hold your hand, you said that I was your favorite thing and that just the two of us could stand.

Your brown eyes piercing in my soul with the traffic passing by the turnpikes toll, you said that I should wait. You believed that love was good even if it was late. Even if it was late.

You said that you didn't belong to me, and you said that you wanted to be so free. You convinced me that your body was a part of me, then you said it's the way that it has to be. You said that you don't belong to me, but yes you do. Yes you do.

I saw you walking by just the other day and it reminded me of that time last May, when you said our love was the greatest thing. When you said you were honored to wear my ring.

I see another sparkle on your finger now as you walk by with him and try to blend in the crowd. You walk right past, with a love that won't last.

In dreams and visions now, I once again see you in the crowd. Then the time you tried to make me see that you didn't belong to me. Now I can't see your dark brown eyes. All I see is lies.

You said that you didn't belong to me, and you said that you wanted to be so free. You convinced me that your body was a part of me, then you said it's the way that it has to be. You said that you don't belong to me, but yes you do. Yes you do.
