The Old Blue Last payed host to Parisian trio the Tatianas' UK single launch party last week. Naturally, because the boys hail from Paris, they all exude an effortless cool and undeniably sexy swagger, which if someone found a way to bottle it they would make millions - maybe trillions.
The Tatianas lead singer Pierre Hesling somehow managed to absolutely rock the stage in a leather jacket, throwing himself into the crowd a few times - yet never breaking a sweat... and always looking the picture postcard frontman. With strong Libertines' influence, the band have definitely studied rock through the ages with dedication, shades of The Clash, The Smiths, Joy Division, Pulp and even Oasis come through in their songs.
Finally the band rip through the single "I'm a Swine", getting the crowd excited and no doubt weakening a few floorboards, these guys are so cool, they don't even sweat when they play a blinding gig that gets everyone dancing...

the Tatianas may look like they've just stepped out of the Big Book of British Rockstars, but Pierre, Timothée and Loïs actually hail from Paris, where they are amongst the hottest bands on the music scene.
Key players on the underground rock scene as early as 2005, they've been chosen to star in a film with Catherine Deneuve (Gaël Morel's Après lui, presented in Cannes in 2007) and supported The Wombats, Razorlight and more recently Dirty Pretty Things.
Their electric live presence and well-crafted tunes (think The Libertines meet Richard Hell) have earned them a cult following, including producer Ludvig Andersson, son of ABBA's Benny, with whom they recorded their debut album in Stockholm.
Expect a french releaseof their debut album in january 2010, and expect to hear a lot more about the Tatianas...
