The Taxonomists are a Boston-based rock band featuring Alex Handler on vocals and guitar, Andrew Hughes on guitars, Anna Neumann on vocals and keyboard, and Evan Rees on drums. Drawing inspiration from the likes of David Byrne, The Strokes, The Beatles, and Radiohead, The Taxonomists explore the awesome and indestructible marriage of rock and pop. A rare chemistry between dual lead vocalists drives a juicy, energetic, and infectious sound bathed in savory hooks and sweet rhythms. Their self-produced Dolphin Ape Demo was completed in the fall of 2013 and along with its lead single ģ°½€œDolphin Ape Cultureģ°½€? has received attention from local music blogs including The Deli Magazine, Sound of Boston, and BDC Wire. Music from the album has also been featured on local radio stations WEMF and WAAF. Since entering the Boston music last summer, The Taxonomists have packed area venues such as Church, O'Brien's, Club Bohemia, and Lilypad and are now looking to share their music with new audiences.
