Bio

Our music is the anthem for all the kids out there on the struggle trying to make a name for themselves and wanting to leave a mark on the world.

Brace yourselves..

This story is not one you hear often..its tragic & powerful story about rising above and finding the good in all the shit that life brings. It's about living your dreams and not listening to other peoples opinions of what you should do or who you should be. I feel like I could write about about our lives, and most people would be entertained..even if it's just mildly. Some people may look down upon our story, but to them I'd say you have to have the rain to appreciate the sun..and vise versa..
My writing partner, best friend, and "husband" had to go through what most people at our young ages of 20/.21 would never be brave enough to take on...a very, very messy, ugly divorce with kids involved. Not between him and I, but him and his previous wife. I wasn't the cause of the divorce, they had been seperated for months before I came into the picture... but I most certainly went through the hell of it.
I won't go into details, cause there are far too many..but I will say its taken almost 3 years to heal from it..and we still are. I had to take on dealing with a very dramatic and heart breaking situation, of being the "reason" that my best friend wasn't allowed to have his kids overnight or anywhere around me for that matter for almost 2 years. It was the worst thing we've ever been through, and so tormenting to see him so devestated from losing precious time with his children.
I don't think most men would be brave enough as he was during that time. Things have improved A LOT over time with that whole situation, and now we have the kids pretty often. It's crazy, I just turned 23 and I'm a stepmom figure to 3 amazingly kickass kids.. I never pictured that is who I would be when I became an adult.
In some ways I have to appreciate all of that awful stuff that happened, cause we discovered music could be our outlet for letting out all that anger, sadness, fuck you's, and you're no better than us out. Ya know we do have some happy sounding songs..but if you listen to the lyrical content most of it is pretty dark. Life hasn't been a bunch of bubble gum and rainbows for us..we've chosen to take the hard, but awesome road we are on now cause we believe in each other.
We started writing songs together pretty much directly before Bonnaroo 2010, when I happen to meet a guy at Bonnaroo who owned a record label here in Nashville. He asked me to come audition for his label when we got back in town. So we did. He asked us to play a showcase at 3rd & Linsley, and at this time we didn't have a band..but the excitment of possibly getting a record deal made us form one real quick! He offered us a deal, but there was far too much control involved on his end...So we declined his offer and decided to venture out without a label.
We're a 7 piece band, so as you can imagine, we're very loud and in you're face..which is the way we like it. :) We all live in East Nashville, and it's like a little community/family. It's a great city to live in as an artist..very good vibes & a lot of talent. I will say though, Nashville is a very tough place to gain recognition..every night there is a good band playing somewhere. Lots of competition for the attention of ears round here..But we've certainly left a skid mark on the town. People come to the shows and get pumped. Its always a great feeling to gain a new fan, and to have so many people who do believe in us and come show support at our shows.
Right now were in the process of editing footage for our "kickstarter", but it's through Indiegogo. We're going to try to raise enough money to get by and have a record recorded within a month. We've got about 20 songs we're just achin to record..but money and time to do it has been our only issue..if we had the money, we'd have the time.
