Bio

Daniel Tengelsen was born in Provo, Utah in 1983. He was first introduced to music with piano lessons at the age of five. He took up the bass in the fifth grade, and started playing guitar at the age of fourteen. His musical talent remained a secret to most until he locally released the single “Come on Back to Me” in honor of his deceased friend Kelly Morgan. From that moment there was no going back. Vitality and Rueben were the two bands during his high school days in which he starred as lead singer and guitarist. In the spring of 2002, he released his debut album, While We’re Here. Since that time, his music has taken an acoustic turn, bearing some similarities to the likes of Mason Jennings and the aged Eric Clapton. He has also remained predominantly a solo performer, with the exception of his little brother Ben.

Ben was born in Colorado Springs, CO in 1987. Like his brother Daniel, he started his musical career with piano lessons at the age of five. His mother accredits his excellent singing voice to the fact that she taught piano lessons while he was in the womb. He started playing percussion as an eleven year old, playing in the middle school jazz band, and the high school Symphony band and drum line. He began playing guitar and songwriting in 2002, but kept his products a secret until the summer of 2004. It was then that he was attending a concert for a local musician whose voice went out. To keep the crowd from leaving, Ben picked up the singer’s guitar and played a number of his original tunes. Much to his surprise, he drew a louder response than the first singer, and has been showcasing his talent ever since at private parties and local venues in Bozeman, MT and Provo, UT. He has remained primarily a solo artist, performing with the occasional percussionist and his brother Daniel. This August he plans to release his much anticipated debut album, From the Mountains to the Sea, which features Ben on guitar, vocals, percussion, bass, and piano.
