"Jager Uprising (Band Comp)"

... Interstellar Overdrive wound up the night with some classic rock. oud and with a strong stage presence, they lifted the roof. The frontman's vocals were powerful, deep and husky, charasmatically juxtaposed with his soft and humble manner. The quirly and animated saxophone player added a unique dimension to their otherwise traditional sound, and his solos were rousing. The songs themselves were crowd-pleasers, with catchy melodies, delivered with energy and a natural cohesion. In a way it was like watching a big band, with each member contributing a distinct and convincing performance.

"Letters (from readers)"

Dear Drum,
I'm just writing to say how much I love live bands, an if it wasn't for this magazine, i couldn't see the great Aussie bands play. I went to Brass Monkey and saw new band Interstellar Overdrive, which cost $8, but I would happily pay another eight bucks to see them again (which I am, at the Annandale Hotel). It is so good to see these local bands pouring out their heart and souls and showing their passion for music. But I reckon Drum Media need to support small bands more. I wanna see more good music and I want more talented people to show their passion and talent to us. But they can't do it themselves, they need Aussie's support. So if people se bands like Interstellar Overdrive in the gig guide section, pay your eight bucks and send 'em on the road.
Keep on rockin' Australia,
Cazzo
