We are The Theatre Zero
The Theatre Zero is the creative musical collaboration formed in 2010 between singer/songstress, Alice Grey, and composer/lyricist, Callum H.W. Scotney.
The duo first worked together on Callum H.W. Scotney’s first solo album, Strike The Funeral Chord, released in late 2010. The addition of Greg Smith as their percussionist during the recording of STFC gave the group a taste of the dynamic that they would later hone into a distinct sound truly their own.
The Theatre Zero have since then playednumerous shows in the Greater Toronto Area, from large clubs and bars to the smaller more familiar settings they have come to adore. The appearance of an adoring and intimate following towards the end of 2011 has shown TTZ that heartfelt songwriting and a good melody will always prevail in a dimly lit bar full of strangers.
After experimenting with their new line up in a live setting,
the group have begun the creative process for a follow up album to be released in 2013, as well as taking on the task of all their artistic elements (photos, videos, artwork). The need to experiment and develop their new material has led TTZ to begin building their own home studio in the hopes that the new album will be much more unique and interesting for listeners.
The solo projects of our artists exist in an independent reality as seen in their highly original work, whereas The Theatre Zero and the music produced comes from the need to create new ideas, art, and poetry alike, devoid of tainted ideals or past endeavors.
This Music, This Art, This Poetry is for you, it's for us, and the rest is nothing.
