Biography

Consistently rated as one of London’s most exciting live bands, Brixton 4-piece ‘The Thirst’ have already toured extensively across the globe from Japan to Mexico, from Peckham to Paris, with their own unique ‘electric groove’ sound which has seen the band support The Rolling Stones, The Sex Pistols & The Libertines, as well as sharing stages with grime stalwarts Kano & Wiley.

Consisting of brothers Mensah and Kwame along with childhood friends Mark and Marcus, ‘The Thirst’ are deeply influenced by their Afro-Caribbean upbringing, their parents’ old punk records and influences from ska, indie, drum and bass, hip-hop, rock, funk & soul and all that goes in-between. They are especially inspired by Prince and Jimi Hendrix, embodying the fiery tones of those who refuse to be labelled and will destroy any box people try to put them in.

‘The Thirst’ are the sound of today’s guitar wielding youth, renowned in their own right for their electrifying live performance.
