The Three 4 Tens sophomore recording, Taking Northern Liberties, named after the Philly neighbourhood where the band reside, is like a dose of The Strokes on blotter acid meets Paul Revere and The Raiders, blending elements of The Doors, Steppenwolf and Iron Butterfly. Their live show is a lava lamp psychedelic rave-up that only rivals the legendary Feelies.
Their debut album, Change Is On ItÂ’s Way, released in 2001 on Rainbow Quartz, received rave reviews from around the globe, now the Philly based band have recorded an incredible follow up, a truly modern psychedelic garage masterpiece, that runs the spectrum from gorgeous neo-R.E.M-ish harmonic psych ballads to Stems' like 21st century Nuggets to Toadies-like full-on rockers and back again to thoughtful, acoustic soundscapes whilst able to switch gears to an almost B-52's / Feelies pogo inducing workout.
