Bio

Should your event be interested in having a quality young and invigorating show band that will keep the audience hopping? Do you want to encourage and support Canadian talent? Need a group that can play music for all ages? Where can you find such a band that fits this criteria?

Look no further than The Throwbacks. This talented group of exceptional, clean cut, young musicians have been performing for many years. Every venue that this band has played at has left audiences with their jaws on the floor after hearing music that rival bands twice their age.

Lead guitar and singer Sam Taylor has been delighting crowds with his infectious talent from the tender age of seven. Over the years Sam has won Junior Talent Search for Southwestern Ontario, London Idol, sung the national anthem at a Blue Jays Game and performed at the opening for the John Labatt Centre. In earlier days he appeared and performed on the Jenny Jones Show. Sam is the type of performer you would listen to for hours as he emotionally reels you into every song throughout the performance.

Strumming on the bottom end is the dancing digits of Lindsey French. Her diverse musical experience and personal sessions with Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughn bassist and four time Grammy winner) from the Blues, Jazz and Classical genre gives the band a solid and reliable balance to The Throwbacks sound spectrum.

The last piece of the puzzle that keeps this band on track is Michael Ferguson on drums. Time spent in the Sony Canada drum studio added more ammunition to his drumming arsenal. His heavy backbeat and multiple drum shots only compliment the bass and the rest of the band.

The quality of performance provided by The Throwbacks speaks for itself as they have delighted crowds at a myriad of engagements. Enthralled listeners still recount, relive and remember our performances at the Aylmer Bandshell Fundraiser, opening for Brock Zeman, Social Justice Walk in Victoria Park, London International Children's Festival, Gathering On The Green in Wortley Village, London International Food Festival, Kids Zone, Super Cruise 2005 and 2006, the London Music Club, Delhi Harvest Festival, the London Rib Fest, Western Fair, Midtown Tavern and the list goes on.

The Throwbacks are in the midst of going into the studio to begin recording their first CD of their own material.

Take a stand, and choose the band that is contributing to building the future of Canadian music.
