"The Thungs II"

Though they sound nothing like it, I could only think of the old Richard Hell song, "New Pleasure," to help describe this.
"Your mind's a wreck, but that's fine/ it corresponds to mine..." Boy, you said it. This is by no means a great record, but it's certainly the most distracting one I've heard all year, and that's a compliment. It's by turns breezy, stupid, brilliant, pathetic, inspired, infuriating, and just plain weird.
"We're in a room, the door closes/ automatic hypnosis..." These guys sound like they holed up in a cave for five years with a four-track, a stash of mushrooms and nitrous oxide, and a buncha records by Ween, Eno, Sparks, Tiny Tim, and The Chipmunks.
"Too weak for life you have become/ you can't get dressed, you're too numb..." Think of all the bands you like who sound completely fuckin' wasted. I guarantee you they sound like Pat Boone next to these psychopaths. There's a desperate single-mindedness here from which only great art can come, even if it ain't quite there yet.
"A day's a week, the monster dozes..." I rush home to put this on, rip it the fuck outta the player after three songs, wonder what I was thinking, then turn it back on a half hour later. How could I not be impressed? (Joe Coughlin)

Bio

Hi There! We're Gabe, Shannon, Tommy, Megan, and Wiggy. Better known as The Thungs. We believe that music can be a wonderfully fun experience without taking itself too seriously. When you come to see us, either at a bowling alley or in someone's living room, it feels like you are part of our family. We sing , laugh, and scream together. This is what we do. We write songs with spirit and put on shows that entertain us just as much as the audience. We mold our music to the mood of the evening. Some nights you might see us in full on rock mode with distorted guitars and crazy organ solos, and others you'll find us sitting on the ground with an acoustic guitar and a set of bongos.

We're the Thungs. We have many influences, some are obvious and some are not, but they're not us. Our music could simply be referred to as rock n' roll. We'd be okay with that.
