Formed in a basement on the eastside of Cincinnati, The Tinge has roots dating back 10 years, born out of the shared musical interests of two high school sweethearts, Rachel Morgan and Mike Hale. Their love for music, in particular, ‘80s hair created a bond that has yet to be broken.
In the years they’ve spent together Rachel has fronted two bands, always with Mike playing lead guitar right by her side. Now married, they share both their lives and rock star dreams, realized through the bands they’ve formed and the music they make together.
In their latest project, they’ve added Alex Ress on bass, adding some indie-rock persuasion to the mix, as well as drummer Walter Piper III, with roots in jazz and r&b. The meshing of these three genres has created the ultimate sound of The Tinge: rock ‘n roll with bluesy undertones and a nod to the music that brought them together.
