We have regular plays on BBC radio, Radio Shropshire and Radio Stoke as well as independent stations such as Moorlands Radio FM. Through Deuce Radio, we have been aired world wide with accolades coming from The United States, Canada and Australia, to name a few.

Having met at university, when studying music subjects, The Tonepoets were born out of a final assesment, which was so good the band was invited to gig at the local arts festival. Coming from Robbie Wiliams home town, the band had a hard act to follow, but used their various influence to bring on their own inimitable indie rock Tonepoets genre. Jim, from Manchester, was brought up an a diet of 1960's sounds, Beatles, Hollies, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Stone Roses, The Hollies, The Who, Paul Weller, The Sex Pistols, The Kinks, The Eagles and similar whereas Marc, the lead guitarist and song writer with Jim, had many American influences Iron Maiden, Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Nirvana, The pixies, Therapy, Kula Shaker, The Levellers, Silver chair, Blondie, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, David Bowie, The Velvet Underground, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, Lou Reed, G’n’R, John Williams, The Rolling Stones, Wannadies, Gorillaz. Ash, the drummer/percussionist is the son of a drummer and has played since the age of 7. His influences Punk, Funk, Rock, Soul, Blues, with main influences on drumming being Muse (Dominic Howard), Foo Fighters (Taylor Hawkins, R.H.C.P’s (Chad Smith) Silver Chair, Jamiroqui, Clash, Jimmy Eat World, Joss Stone, James Brown and etc. Finally, newest member Chris on bass was brought in after the original bass player left for personal reasons. Chris's influences are similar to Jim's.
Our music is all home spun and comes from Jim and Marc with some input from the others from time to time. Jim's unique singing style together with Marcs remarkable guitar skills has produced an indie rock style which is now capable of being called Tonepoets genre.
Where ever they play they are lauded and applauded and often mobbed at the end of their gig by both males and females who simply adore The Tonepoets and their music.
