"First Fridays Just Became Even Better"

The event featured local blues acts, 2PS and The Trading Co. Both bands were skilled, but I was very impressed by a two-man group with a big sound, Trading Company. They played the type of gritty blues I enjoy most. - Chris James - The Pioneer

"Like Blues Rock?"

The Trading Co. play some pretty damn fine blues rock. They sound a lot like The Black Keys and Radio Moscow. Actually a lot closer to the later. - The Soda Shop

Bio

The Trading Co. are a blues rock duo from Oklahoma. Josh (guitar) and Jonathan (drums) met back just before the turn of the century, and had played music separately and were friends for years before ever considering making music together. In 2009 they found a way to blend their musical influences, which include artists such as, The Band, Mississippi Fred McDowell, The Beatles, Junior Kimbrough, The Black Crowes, CSN&Y, Led Zeppelin, Son House, and many others. After playing together for a few months they released their debut EP in December 2010. Since then they have played with many notable acts including, Dr. Dog, The Lumineers, Radio Moscow, Jonathan Tyler and The Northern Lights, T-model Ford, and The Kamals. In December 2012 The Trading Co. released their self titled debut LP and have been touring regionally since in support of it, while also working on the follow up album to be released early 2014.
