Bio
Joining forces in Dallas, Texas in 2002 Ryan Parvis, Travis Behl and Brian Hughes formed The Transcenders, focusing on writing songs whose heartfelt messages inspire creativity, positive-thinking and spirituality. Yearning to find cohesion and fluidity of lyric and music, The Transcenders added Lionel “Bud� Lucchesi and Brian Girard to the mix infusing rock, blues, funk, country and jazz along with stylized, improvisational solos and duel jams that showcase the talents and variety of musical influences of each member.
The Transcenders energy and musical prowess continues to capture new listeners, thus adding to and enriching an already solid and loyal fan base. In the spring of 2005, The Transcenders released their debut original album, "What It Is", at the legendary Poor David's Pub to a packed house. Gaining local acclaim and recognition, the band positioned itself to play in Austin at the legendary Antone's, Jovitas and the Flamingo Cantina; in Dallas at the Granada Theater and the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas; and around the states of Texas and Oklahoma.
As they have been honored to share the stage with The Radiators, Olospo, Tea Leaf Green, Moses Guest, Salim Nourallah, Larry, Macon Grayson, Chris Holt, Sara Hickman, Dan Walker and Jayson Bales and the Revival, the Transcenders continue to grow and have emerged as a band with a soul, a voice and a musical style all their own.
