"Dallas Music Fest '06"

“Beyond that moment, signs of life were tough to find--unless you're a metal fan. No performance compelled me to stay for more than a few songs, and most repelled me within seconds. A few exceptions, though barely: The Triggermen sounded like competent rhyme slingers with some funny lines. . .” - Dallas Observer

"Blowfly at Rubber Gloves"

“Without Blowfly paving the way, we may not have had a Too Short, Luke or Dr. Octagon. The legendary “dirty rapper” performs in Rubber Gloves in Denton tomorrow with local shock jocks The Triggermen holding down the opening slot. We peeped The Triggermen’s Prom Night CD a few months back and were definitely amused by their creepy, over-the-top, voyeur-in-the-bushes approach that owes more than a bit of gratitude to Kool Keith.” - DFW Quick

"Today: The Triggermen"

The Triggermen. White boy rap out of Dallas? Check. Cute vocalist? Check. Disaffected Office Space corporate angst, complete with ties and baseball bats? Check. Do-It-Yourself drink suggestions? Check. Use of gun imagery? Yes, on those $10 T-Shirts. - Pegasus News

"The Most Unlikley Hoop-It-Up Squad"

The staff at SS Headquarters digs all types of styles. Whether it's old-school B-Boy heroics, backpacker atom-splitting or down-South bounce, we give equal play to all facets. provided that it's well done and heartfelt.

The Yo! Mailman recently dropped off the new disc from The Triggermen, and we of course had to take note. Bar Fights of the Cheap and Shameless is the follow-up to last year's gleefully twisted Prom Night. It continues down that same darkly sardonic, self-loathing path with MC Hysteria 51's approach falling somewhere between Kool Keith and Paul Barman.

You can check 'em at their site (ampmsound.com, iTunes or at The Bar of Soap next Friday night. We assume the fine folks at BOS "get" their sense of humor, considering they booked a band with 'Bar Fights' in the CD title.

Bio

We came together in 2002 as a product of the wack and corny crews who dominated the North Texas hip-hop scene, so for awhile we felt that we were on the outside looking in. Our sound seemed a little esoteric for the current wave of acts.

Raw, hip-hop beats lay our foundation, but experimentation always persists in the forefront of our music; touching on styles from funk, piano bar, 80’s pop, Brazilian, love making to surf music. The Triggermen speak on behalf of the 90%, who deal with the same day-to-day issues.
The fall of 2005 marked the release of “Prom Night,” the debut album from The Triggermen. This CD is a conceptual album, a telling tale of love, heartbreak, scandal, comedy, tragedy and, of course, dirty pillows. It’s like a 21st century Tempest or Romeo & Juliet, but with condoms and cars. This wistful ride takes you through the final stages of the life of a typical high-school senior and their preparations for the “greatest” night of their life. Their second album, "Bar Fights of the Cheap and Shameless," hits upon certain themes from "Prom Night," but goes in a different direction altogether. Our friends are all grown up now. Graduation is over and it's off to the real world, as life lessons come full circle and the lifestyles of sex, drugs and rock and roll, start interfering with long standing relationships. Booze, slowly but surely start to replace friends.
