Bio

The Trillions are a Shred-Pop foursome from Richmond Virginia. Charlie Glenn (guitar, vocals), who frequently slings guitar for Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, regrouped his bandmates Chris Smith (guitar, vocals) and Robbie King (bass) after the dissolution of Prabir & The Substitutes in 2009. Joe Ferguson (drummer) completed the lineup.

The Trillions siphon sounds from their favorite high-intensity bands: some pop wizardry from The Strokes, big-and-loud drums from Led Zeppelin and The Who, a dose of bombastic shred and guitar feedback from Pinkerton-era Weezer, smears of vocal attitude from The Buzzcocks, all drizzled with some topical lyrics and harmonies à la The Beatles, The Zombies, or Dr. Dog. Live sets are energized by a DIY light array which visualizes every note and beat performed with sympathetic flash.

Since 2010, they've helped build a fresh Richmond music scene, and played many a show all over the east coast, opening up for acts such as Girl Talk, Best Coast, J Roddy Walston and The Business, Jukebox the Ghost, and The Head and The Heart, among others.

The Trillions now bring us their first full-length album 'Tritones.' All 12 tracks exhibit aforementioned nods to rock music, but are also replete with chords and melodies inspired by composers such as Gustav Holtz and Ludwig von Beethoven. The Trillions often employ synthesizer-like harmonic guitar arrangements to adorn compositions that are dissonant and yet equally catchy. Captured with the fizz and punch of live performance, 'Tritones' is being released on iTunes, CD, USB drive, and Vinyl through Worthless Junk Records.
