Rock, or mellow out...depending on the day.

Biography

There you are, having a few beers with the Tragically Hip, discussing such glorious albums as Back in Black and August and Everything After, when who should walk in, but Jack Johnson, finally mad about…well…something, and decides to pick a fight with Sarah Harmer . Luckily, Tom Petty is there to break it up… This pretty much describes the feel and the sound of Victoria’s the troubledown (yes, one word, and no, not capitalized); an acoustic folk-rock duo that have been writing, recording, and gigging for the last three years.

Lyrics

Harbinger Ave

Written By: Regnier,Reid

Together, we can come together, we can talk all night- no one is up tight.
Shoulder leans, ‘you know what I means’ and every moment feeling alright- alright.
So why today the strange hellos and sharing space uncomfortable?
You shy away and I barely say anything worth sending your way- your way.

And so suspicion reigns on Harbinger Ave,
where strangers lurk and terror laughs.
No tricks, no treats, no evenings hallowed.
Where lumps in throats are being swallowed and its only the middle of May.

Together, we can still come undone under frustrated circumstance, covered by elusive smiles.
Defensive with no chances. Another sunny day rolls by the troubled road, the unmarked signs that clouds all of our time with what for's and why's, with metaphors and lies.

And so suspicion reigns on Harbinger Ave,
where strangers lurk and terror laughs.
No tricks, no treats, no evenings hallowed.
Where lumps in throats are being swallowed and its only the middle of May.

Revenge

Written By: Regnier,Reid

You see in black, I see in red, the vast amount of words we've said’s revenge.
& still we roll through compost soil and stir the pot until it boils revenge.

Yet find the end and none will win but the memories of all you've been.
Now all you see is bitterness.. I bet you wish we'd thought of this.

Threw pots and pans… and slamming doors, you'd think we'd learn a little more revenge,
but back and forth the ball will roll , until we hate with all our souls; revenge.

Yet find the end and none will win but the memories of all you've been.
Now all you see is bitterness... I bet you wish we'd thought of this.

Sometimes the hurt outweighs the meaningful things and all you see is pain and all you feel is stranger.

You see in black, I see in red, the vast amount of words we've said’s revenge.
& still we roll through compost soil and stir the pot until it boils revenge.

Yet find the end and none will win but the memories of all you've been.
Now all you see is bitterness... I bet you wish we'd thought of this.

I bet you wish we'd thought of this.

Up to Us

Written By: Regnier,Reid

Give a little credit to this gentle situation,
intention finds humble worth if you’re up for changing.
Get a lot more out of making a decision,
growth can only happen with a simple demonstration of love.

So inspire me instead and I will do the same.
Couldn’t give you a better reason for getting up today.
Like a fallen horse that’s not yet lame,
you’re just a little off your game.

And they never judge the rider when they have themselves to blame

And if its up to us to cultivate this trust
then I hope we can harvest in good time.

Time spent waiting only pushing for control
will only pull you under and ushers in the old.
And sure there is some learning from good deed and word
but I’d rather say nothing and not move…and be understood.

Cause these strangers I haven’t met yet, are friends I really should.

And if its up to us to cultivate this trust
then I hope we can harvest in good time.

Never thought I’d say this but I think I’ve got the hang of it.
Believing in this magic…nothing seems so drastic.

Because its up to us to cultivate this trust
then I know we will harvest in good time.
