Our name - The Troubles- was inspired by the band members Irish roots, and recalls the historic conflicts that occurred in Northern Ireland during the 60's, 70's,and 80's.
The Troubles are:
Paul Noon: vocals, guitar, and bass
Patrick Miggins: guitar, tenor banjo, mandolin, fiddle, vocals
Loretta Murphy: vocals, bodhran, tin whistle, songwriter
The Troubles were formed in 2008. They have performed at The Clover Irish Weekend Festival (2009, 2010), Heritage Day & Walkin' for St. Kierans (2010, 2011, 2012), Heritage Day Shenandoah (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), the Schuylkill County Literary Guild Fundraiser, Elizabethtown College's International Global Education Day, public venues and pubs such as The Mine Shaft Cafe, The Hibernian House, Lazarchick's Cafe, McNiff's Irish Pub, the Union Station Grill, Berwick Brewing Company, Old Forge Brewing Company, The Tamaqua Community Arts Center, and private events. The Troubles do several shows for charity every year.
Our major focus is on creating and performing our original music but we also strongly believe in the need to keep the Irish culture alive through its unique music and song.
