The Truegoods

When faced with the question "who are The Truegoods", the most common reply is "who are the WHO??????"

The five piece Truegoods, by their own definition, are more about "what" than "who, minus the obligatory spiritual mumbo jumbo. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the band is the creation of founder and singer/songwriter Ashton Vale and the end result of a two year recording process resulting in the bands debut album, "Lollipops and Hand Grenades".

"Strongly influenced by the british bands of the 80's and 90's, Vale's writting style lends itself to a modern day blend of melancholy Morrissey and modern day emo". Or so relays a fan of the band from Dallas, Texas.

Rounded out by Martin Acosta - rythm guitar, Cameron Hartl - lead guitar, Ryland Haggis - bass and Jeff Johnston - drums, The Truegoods are working on their second album, this time a collective of the entire bands influences. The band is currently polishing it's live show in support of it's pending October push to radio in Canada wich will feature a charitable benefit series in support of Canadian food and homeless shelters.

By no means deluded into seeing itself as the next big act to come out of Canada, Vale and the rest of the lads from Vancouver do intend to inject themselves into the North American and European music scene in what they hope is a stark departure from some might describe as a "predictably Canadian" mainstream music scene.
