The Tunes and Tones
The Rolling Stone Effect (State Of Independence)
By Lee Zimmerman

In a region populated by alt-rockers, rappers, and an overabundance of like-minded cover combos, the Tunes and Tones' homespun ramble and sway provides South Florida with a rare hint of an Americana attitude. The acoustic guitars and shuffled rhythms complement vocals that reside somewhere between Nirvana and Neil Young-specifically, the rowdy and rambunctious "Hey" and the frisky, upturned optimism of "About Life" to the backwoods strum of the ironically titled album opener "Originality". These four homeboys are big on down-home twang. The Rolling Stone Effect-it's a sound beginning. - Broward Palm Beach New Times

"Warp Radio freeformrock.com"

I like this cd. There is some clever stuff going on here that doesn't become noticeable on first listen. I think a couple of shooters in a wooden-floored bar would make it even better. We can use some of this, and encourage you to keep it up! - Bill Ashford

"LiveAudioMag.Com"

"...Diverse and electic. On "Life Has Changes" the singer sounds like Dylan suckin on nitrus. The album opener reminded me of something from Yellow Submarine. I like this band alot really, they keep it real down there in S. Florida..." - Ryan M.
