Bio
The Turncoats are an alternative blues/rock group out of central Illinois. The idea of a band was brought up for a talent show in high school. They formed for the event and covered "Wind Cries Mary" and "Moby Dick" to win the show. Right from the beginning there was a spark and feeling of familiarity.
They began to develop their sound by covering classic rock legends. This put there musicianship to the test and helped them evolve on a professional level. Eventually they grew into writing their own material with songwriting influences ranging from The Beatles to The White Stripes.
Their live shows contain the electricity of The Who, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The Turncoat's raw 60s british sound reminds you of early kinks, but with the instrumental prowess of Led Zeppelin.
The Turncoats, with their genre spanning influences, as well as their blues barreling live show, are sure to grab the crowd's attention.
