"The Tweedlers"

I thought that I would revisit a story from last month, a kind of update, if you will. Recently, I had an occasion to attend a concert given by Russ and Eric, "The Tweedlers". This concert was at the Rome Nursing Home, and was a treat for the residents to sit and listen to these two musicians, as they performed songs from many old country standards like, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart", with many of the residents joining in with the singing. It was interesting to note that all of this great music was accompanied by only two instruments, a guitar and a mandolin, played by the two aforementioned young fellows. The Tweedlers play many of these concerts throughout New York State, from the Big Apple, to Western and Northern New York. These traveling troubadours welcome the opportunity to play anytime, anywhere, so if they come to your town, don't miss them. They are extremely entertaining. - 5 Point Compass News

"Afterflow of Mother/Father Luncheon"

Those who came to The Whitney House after the morning worship, were blessed with a great buffet luncheon and wonderful fellowship. Add to that the music of Eric Lipper and Russ Bellair, known as The Tweedlers. Eric plays acoustic guitar and is the lead vocal, and Russ plays the mandolin. The duo brings back to life the great songs of the past, and plays them with timeless acoustic instrumentation. Their repertoire covers hundreds of years, from old foreign folk songs, through great tunes of recent times, to brand new originals. Their audience in Columbus responded overwhelmingly with applause. An extra bonus was their spiritual rendition during the morning worship service. Pastor Steve and Sandy Strait took the liberty of inviting them back to entertain at the "Thank You Dinner" on Sunday, October 15 in the Whitney House. Reserve this date... you will not want to miss them! - Columbus Community Church

"The Tweedlers Review"

Dear Friends,

What a happy day it was and continues to be, when our friends, The Tweedlers, contacted us and asked if they could perform for our residents at Stonehedge Health & Rehab Center.

Russell and Eric are two very talented musicians; they bring laughter, humor and smiles along with their great variety of music. Residents, families, and staff wait for their arrival of favorite entertainment.

No words can express our appreciation to these two gentlemen. They are true professionals, and we feel they will bring the same enthusiasm. When finished, Eric and Russell go and shake each residents hand and thank them for coming, which is extra special to our people. Also, they take requests for songs our residents would like to hear, and if they do not know it, they will make a list and the next time they come, fill the request.

We have never been disappointed. The Tweedlers have a fan club at this facility. We are so grateful that they travel that long distance and bring so much happiness to so very many.

Respectfully,
Marlene Ackerman
Activity Director - Stonehedge Health & Rehab Center

Bio

The Tweedlers started in 2004, on the St. Lawrence River. The good mood of fresh air and a campfire remains with us in our performances. The Tweedlers first gained experience, playing for many retirement homes in New York State (all of which continue to request return visits), and last summer, we enjoyed being a part of 3 county fairs. Our music has been successful with children, seniors, and everyone in between. While staying true to the originals, our instrumentation, vocals, and bouncy feel, gives everything we do a fun Tweedlers sound!
