The Twenty 20s

The Twenty 20s are a six piece band from Melbourne Australia, made up of bandleaders from Jump Swing, Zydeco, Classical, Blues & Roots, Americana and Cajun scenes.
Brought together as an experiment.. this group set the studio on fire, and along with the velvet retro vocals of Hetty Kate they recorded their first album of originals, standards and heavily arranged covers from British Punk and American Rock'n'Roll.
Now a working band in Melbourne, they are releasing their debut album "Uh!Oh!" independently mid-year 2011, and will be touring the album in Australia from November 2011.
The Twenty 20s sound is a new sound, a sound reminding you of familiar territories but always sounding fresh and enticing. With African rhythms, tenor guitar sounding like organs and whalesong, a hot horn section and plenty of atmospheric space to let each song, and the story it evokes, shine in your minds eye.
