Bio
twila. knows a little bit about nostalgia and language, having spent half of her childhood in an island town in the Philippines and the other half (as well as her teenage years) in the sleepy central valley of California, before jumping head-first into the sound of Southern California. The 20-year-old's identity in music has always been set since she began singing before she spoke at three, carrying this throughout her high school years and taking to the streets of downtown Merced, California for the local Art Hop, winning first place during a local singing contest, and being on-call for town events— all with just her voice and guitar. Her sound was solidified upon forgoing a return to Philippines for nursing school and pursuing her dream as a musician through college in the greater Los Angeles area. She fell in love with the lo-fi acoustic music of Bruno Major and her childhood inspiration of Taylor Swift, marrying their sound to create storytelling tracks from the heart. After a few years of youtube covers in her teen years, twila. will be releasing her first single at the end of Spring 2020 and collaborating with a fellow artist, Leanna Claire, on an album to be release December 2020.
