"The Twitch Rocks"

The Twitch plays meat and potatoes rock ’n’ roll. Beefy riffs, 4/4 rhythms and even the occasional rock screech are the modus operandi on their self-titled EP, and they slug it out with two guitars, bass, drums and vocals—old-school style. Aaron Katz, best known as a songwriter and drummer for Percy Hill, produced the four-song set. Given that the band doesn’t try to follow some of the more ironic, tight Atari T-shirt wearing musical trends so popular of late, one has to give Katz kudos for likely encouraging them to do what they do best—straight ahead rock. Black Crowes, AC/DC, a hair of Sabbath and a taste of Zeppelin all surface on the disc, especially on songs like “Diggin’ a Hole” and “Not For You,” which features both guitarists grinding out the same muscular guitar lines. - The Wire - New Hampshire music publication

Bio

It all began in a dark, hot basement in Portsmouth, NH in the Summer of 2004. The Twitch rang their first chord. Out of the gate original music seemed to be on the agenda for this band but over the years they found that doing covers of their favorite rock tunes made more money and got better gigs. Since then The Twitch has become one of the premiere rock cover bands in the New Hampshire area. On one hand they can play the whiskey bar with their influences sounding off through the classics of Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC and Aerosmith and then they can play the more universal, crowd-looking-to-dance club next door with a set list full of John Cougar, Weezer, Billy Joel, Sublime, Tommy Tutone and, yes, even Diamonds show stopper Sweet Caroline. This being said... The Twitch has marketed itself, on a cover level, to play any club or bar and to any crowd with maximum success. Previous shows include The Bulfinch Yacht Club and The Middle East in the Boston Area. The Brickhouse and Bourbons on the Seacoast. And dozens of other venues within Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
The original music is funded by the cover shows which is why it's such an important aspect of the bands survival. With tunes like Whiskey, Wine and Women, Bad Attitude, SheDevil and Dirty Love, The Twitch takes the three chord arena rock approach and delivers catchy licks and memorable choruses with their original tunes. At the end of Summer 2008, The Twitch rolled into Rocking Horse Studios in New Hampshire to attempt a live sounding representation of their original lineup. With minimal bells and whistles the rockers recorded 11 songs in the course of a weekend. The result is the bands first full length CD entitled "Dirty Love".
The Twitch continues to rock the cover gigs and write new originals. Whatever your poison, The Twitch can deliver the punch.
