Bio

The TX LadyBugs was formed in 2010 by the inspiration and spirit of Indie Artist "Katherine Dawn" on the suggestion and advice by her late friend and mentor Capital recording artist "Big" Bill Lister. May he R.I.P., get to pick & grin, hunt & fish with friend and band mate Hank Williams SR. and forever ride along to every show! We want to make you proud of your Ladybugs Bill!!!!
The band made their debut in Austin, TX in March of 2010 at The River Road Art Gallery, Audience response proved a fast growing fan base and obvious desire for continued
contribution by this all female band.
The unique duet Lead Vocals produced by members Ginger Pickett & Katherine Dawn blend an original melody that has left most listeners with one word WOW!
Rhythmic textures created by (not a drummer) but Percussionist elite Wave Harless & the long history of KD's guitar blend with the solid back beats and melodic Bass guitar work by Melinda Day. Harmoinca contribution by Susan Taylor adds the sweet sprinkles to this power house mix! Top all that off with five piece harmony and an on stage banter between these ladies makes for an unforgettable experience of Texas Music at its best.

Few cover tunes are contributed to their shows but the ones that are can be refreshing and new with the original twist that the group creates. Most recent the reaction to their rendition of The Allman Brothers "Whippin Post" has left grown men to tears. Dolly Parton's Jolene" & Kasey Chambers "Runaway Train" performed as a collage of heartsick desire leaves you either forgiving, forgetting, or gettin' on in spite of it all.
A "discovery disc" EP was recorded and released and it proved direction and contemplation for the bands recording of their most recent official debut release "Shake What Yer' Mama Gave Ya'".
The first single off of the record to be released is one of the fan favorite's "Deep Cold Water", a cover by awarding winning performing recording artist Kevin Higgins "Alligator Mouth" and eight more original tracks penned by the whole band.
Fast becoming a regional act from their local band beginnings the band has combined professional experience of approx. 100 years. Yes this group is made up of mature wise women with the age range as of this bio November 2012 are forty years to sixty five years.
This maturity didn't seem to keep the band from being chosen the top thirty artists out of 300 showcased acts in the chosen artists for one of the newest musical documentary television shows "Troubadour Texas".
The band was highlighted on episodes 1 & 9 as well as their showcase audition excerpts to promote the show.

Plans and demand for a Live album are in the works as well as being in the right place at the right time with the right music to help everyone involved feel ALRUGHT!
