theUMPH first became in January of 2006, in Moncton, NB, Canada. This 3-piece post punk-rock project comprises of Jonah Hache (Guitar, Vox), Eric Babineau (Bass, Vox) and Geoff (Drums, Vox). The band was an evolution of Jonah's solo project "Jonahh", an indie rock group that had been playing from 2001-2005. Some songs from the old setlist were taken and revamped with new ideas from Babineau and Moss. Several were disgarded or put on the shelf. The members were looking to be a part of a project with equal input, without worrying about having similar influences.
