The Underkills

The Underkills started gigging in November 2006 after being together for just over a year, writing great tunes and perfecting them...
Before this, the band went on a bonding camping trip to Loch Lomond, where it rained and rained and rained - much alcohol was consumed, a mountain was climbed, and The Shakes from Glasgow were discovered, who become relevant a few months later...
The first gig was a DIY job at a local hall, with the guys organising the whole event for friends and locals - all was going well until Elphi didn't show face until about 5 hours after the agreed set up time - typical rock'n'roll singer!! So the plans of an afternoon of practice were scuppered, but in proper rock'n'roll fashion, the guys (feeling a tad nervous after watching seasoned veterans Rescue Party take the roof off) pulled it out of the bag with a cracking debut performance! Any doubters were blown out of the water with a set of 10 original songs, The Underkills cast aside any doubts they had about their abilities as a rock band that night, and have never looked back...
The band's first "proper" gig was in December 2006 and The Underkills showed they have what it takes by securing a headline slot at the Tunnels with tremendous support from Steven Milne, The Shakes from Glasgow and Red Dawn...
Such was the success of the debut at The Tunnels, they were asked back the following day to headline again in January, this time with support from local bands The Confidantes, The Unknown Heroes and Novocaine...
The Underkills have gone from strength to strength headlining local venue Cafe Drummond in their first gig there, returning to the Tunnels a few times and playing the new home of music in Glasgow, the Capitol, as well as securing support slots at Moshulu, and a date at the legendary Lemon Tree...
The Underkills first EP was recorded in January 2007 with songs All Cracked Up (one of the coolest riffs you're ever likely to hear), Here Is My Story (a cracking tune, with great vocals from David and Elphi), Tell Me Something (written on the spot in about 30 seconds, and simply beautiful) and Lost My Soul (The Underkills' showstopping, foot-stomping finale).
