Bio
The Understorey is made up of Jess and Matt McCumons, who create thoroughly compelling original and cover songs inspired by the likes of Brandi Carlile, Amos Lee, Patty Griffin and Amy Winehouse. The duo produces upbeat and rhythmic folk-rock with country roots. Classically trained and locally bred, Jessica's voice is powerful, emotionally charged and always a crowd pleaser. Matt adds dimension to the duo with his warm and percussive style. Inspired by a love for their home state and all that it has to offer these two create evocative and timely tunes with a keen appreciation of the natural world.
