"Rock,Hiphop and Afro-Fusion open Bayimba Festival 2011"

Rock,Hiphop and Afro-Fusion open Bayimba Festival 2011 - Access KLA

"Rock outfit of three guys and one girl"

Uneven, a rock outfit of three guys and one girl, might not be that popular on Uganda’s musical landscape. But it would be foolhardy to bet against what they can do musically. I didn’t. I’ll admit I’d been skeptical when I first learn't they were a rock group. But then seriously, outside of rock lovers, who wouldn’t? - GK

"Ugandan rock band"

I was chilling at Rouge on Wednesday night being soothed by the rock tunes when all of a sudden the music died down. When it resumed, the sound was different so me and my friends went to investigate. That is when we discovered The Uneven, a rock band based in Uganda. And boy-oh-boy did they rock us! By the time they were done performing some popular rock songs like Zombie and a couple of their own songs, I was a believer and my throat was hurting from all the screaming. - Elyt Magazine Issue 2

"The UnEven Rock Band Performs at the Bayimba Festival"

This Rock band with an interesting name and youthful look surprised many with there enormous talent, skill and professionalism. This band has finally brought the rock genre of music to Uganda carried in by the multi-talented lead singer Irene who cleared all doubt with her amazing performance at the event. - Access Kampala

Bio

The Uneven was started in 2007, when Simon peter[drums] and David[lead electric] came together. Originally The Uneven were known as SADS, which stands for the names of the original members; Sandra Anena, Ashe, David Middletonson and Simon Peter Tamale. That marked the beginning of a musical experience that has changed our lives. However Late 2007 saw the other members Sandra and Ashe leave. With the two members leaving the band, we had to change our image drastically and with this came Steven crane[bass] and Irene Ntale[Lead Vocal]. This marked the beginning of a movement that we like to call "Unevenity". Why The Uneven, we called it that because, it represented the uniqueness that each member came with, the background and their own influences and belief, basically the uneven is all about different, period. We have be performing professionally since 2009 and among some of these performances include Maurice Kirya Experience, Words and Pictures, Rouge Rock Nights, Steakout Entebbe Rock Nights, Effendies Rock Night, This is Uganda, Bayimba International Festival for Arts where we were nominated the best act for two years in a row and also we've accompanied artist like Xenson(fair play Concert - Kenya) and Xenson's Futuristic Past among other festivals.

Our style is a combination of Alternative rock, a touch of indie, pop and combined with the very rich history that each member comes with. Most of our inspirations come from bands like Underoath, Paramore, All American rejects, needtobreath, switchfoot, AFI, Alexison fire, Goo goo dolls and many more band that have had a great impact on our main stream entertainment.

Right now in the studio working on a couple of tunes
