Bio
The Unknown Artists formed in late 2010, with Evan Smith on bass/vocals, Simeon Shepherd on lead guitar, and Nick Liemandt on drums. The band got together while the three musicians were in Cain Gilmour’s VET music class at CDU in Alice Springs. 2010 was spent writing and rehearsing a growing collection of songs, influenced by everyone from the Rolling Stones to Lady Gaga. The rest of 2010 was spent rehearsing and playing any gig that came there way. These gigs ranged from backyard parties; to opening for Sneaky System and Empire of Sun. In early 2011 the band took there act to Adelaide as a part of the Long Way from the Top End tour. Recently the band has been working steadily on a debut EP with CDU teacher Cain Gilmour, who has been working with the band since day one. Somehow the Unknown Artists continue writing, rehearsing and gigging, and aim to silence those who say rock n roll is dead.
