Grant and Steve knocked around the idea of Joy Division covers while playing together in Chicago original band, I Lost Control. After Grant left the band, the talk of collaboration and playing Joy Division music continued. When it was mentioned to friend and guitarist, Mitch Marlow (The Charming Beggars, Sleeptalkers), he immediately showed interest and began working on lining up possible gigs. It didn't take long before Mitch had secured two dates. The trio got to rehearsing, but needed to find a drummer. Enter Jordan Kozer, veteran Chicago musician (Webstirs, Redwalls) who was playing with a B52s tribute band the same night. The lineup was set.
The Unknown Pleasures have performed choice Chicago venues including The Abbey's "Halloweekend" and Reggie's "Classic Album Night."
