"BBC Radio Manchester"

Unstoppable by name, unstoppable by nature, there really is something exciting about this lot. The twist of an indie band with an MC fronting them works brilliantly, supplying a fiery energy that sets them apart from the crowd and suggests their future could be very bright. - Chris Long

"Ents 24"

The Unstoppable Team live up to their name, with live break beats providing the perfect bed for the lead singer's rapping. This is good time music and the floor is full of people who just want to dance. It's not all lightweight though, and there's elements of Rage Against The Machine or Plan B and The Stone Roses bubbling to the surface, all adding up to a heady mix of funky rhythms and saturated beats. - Peter Doherty

Bio

There has to be a point where disillusionment turns into action.

For The Unstoppable Team, that time came late in the summer of 2007. Surveying a Manchester music scene left fractured, flat and frozen in time by years of self-cannibalisation and regurgitation, the band acted to distance themselves from the legions of uninspiring bands plaguing the city.

They parted ways with their lead singer and started to work with a talented MC, forging a fresh new sound along the way. The inventively incongruous melding of indie ideals with 21st century beat poetry set tongues wagging around the city, famed for its pioneering spirit.

Before long – after just one gig, actually – the band were invited to play with The Mitchell Brothers in Manchester & one of the North West’s top unsigned night, Danny Mcnamara's The Aftershow, which is already gaining a reputation for turning up some of the freshest talent the region has seen in years.

The collision of the band’s various musical influences makes for an exciting, embracing new sound. They may have carved out their own niche, but the massive crossover appeal of tracks like ‘Get Back’, with its crowd-pleasing, skyscraper-sized refrain, is undeniable.

Passionately-delivered lyrics, by turns heartfelt and full of attitude, sit atop churning guitars and bone-bothering bass and drums. As The Unstoppable Team’s wall of sound hits you, the feeling that something monumental is happening becomes harder to shake.

Tipped for great things by BBC Manchester, Elliot Eastwick (Revolution 96.2FM) and The Daily Telegraph – who filmed a special acoustic set with the band at last year’s Glastonbury festival, where they also kicked up a plugged-in riot on stage; with frenzied gigs at local venues as well as a memorable appearance at Manchester’s Pride festival (narrowly averting a stampede when The Unstoppable Team CDs were launched into the crowd); and their first single tipped for release early spring 2009, the band look set to be huge.

Now is the time to get involved. Now is the time for action.
