The Upbeat

Joined somewhat by accident during an evening recording session (in the fall of 2007) of pieces written by Jarred. We have been working on and writing original tunes as a band for a couple months now. All of our members have extensive musical backgrounds and experience in writing, playing and performing thus creating quite the eclectic style. This band has progressed quickly and furiously in all aspects thanks to each member’s talents, ideas and ability to work together. When we aren’t rocking in the dungeon (the basement jam space) we will dabble in other things like teaching music to the youth of tomorrow, going to film school, building computer networks for local Halifax businesses, and Bar tending, although the last on the list is of more importance then the others. With the pot of gold in their back yard, we are oh so lucky to have a band mate with the skills of recording and producing as you will hear on our demo. We all have worked incredibly hard in the past but for the first time, everyone in the band doesn’t just consider themselves a member of the band but is passionate about the progress of the group and all the good things to come.
