The Upwelling

An upwelling occurs when cold water from the ocean depths replaces its warmer surface layer. As a result of this phenomenon, an upwelling has come to mean a "rising", not unlike the current emergence of the similarly named Queens-based band, the Upwelling.

With influences like Pink Floyd and the Police, New York City’s the Upwelling have gathered notice. While still unsigned, the band was designated as the 1st unsigned act and 1st EP on Virgin-Megastore’s Virgin Recommends series, Spin.com Underground Band-of-the-Year, and named Karma Productions’ band to tour Ireland. Without agency or management, the band was invited to tour the U.K. with the All-American Rejects and then to tour the U.S. as the sole support on Third Eye Blind’s 10-year anniversary tour. They have further supported an impressive and diverse group of bands including Metric, Motion-City Soundtrack, We are Scientists, Towers of London, The Wrens, Tea Leaf Green, Rainer Maria, VHS or Beta, The Duke Spirit, As Tall As Lions, The Stills, Hoobastank, and others.

The Upwelling, including Conor Heffernan (Keyboards/Bass Pedals), Lee Moretti (Guitar/Harmony), and brothers Ari (Vocals/Guitar) and Josh Ingber (Drums/Harmony), will be touring and recording through the Fall and are available to package as support or co-headline.
