Bio

The Venial are a group of talented teens who have been involved in music in some way since grade school. Their sound is a mixture of alternative, emo rock/pop. Biggest influence is Brand New. Others include Silverstein, Red Hot Chili Peppers,Yellow Card, Blink 182, My Chemical Romance,Ray Charles,Saosin this is just a short list of influences.

Nick Stanley & Drew Meyer met in grade school, performed with the award winning Jazz Band at their middle school then decided to form a rock band. In the beginning it was just Drew and Nick. After a few unsuccessful tries to get a serious band started up, a guitarist turned up and Brandon Scott moved here from some place called ummmm michigan at the beginning of sophomore year. These guys agreed to join Drew and Nick taking the name "Another Lost Cause." Considering the many attempts to form a band before "ALC", Nick and Drew believed this project was simply another lost cause. Little did they know it would turn out to play a major role in their lives. The quadra pod of musicians started practicing in August of 06 and played their first show in October '06 and they were an instant local teen success.

The band’s name of "Another Lost Cause" struck controversy all over the city of Louisville and in some parts of Poland so the band dropped the name and became "The Venial" (a small sin, not too devilish, inspired by a catholic religion class) After playing a few shows and parties, there was a member change and Eric Gresham, who was a friend of the band and had already filled in for one show, was next to join The Venial's journey of music.

With Eric now on lead guitar, the Venial’s true sound was found. Nick began putting the music and lyrics playing in his head to paper.

The band entered it’s first battle of the bands, landing second place. They were the only teen band to make the finals. It was during this battle that they got the attention of local promoters and booking agents. The quartet is currently writing new songs, booking gigs and will soon be releasing their first EP.
