"The world of modern-blues has taken a significant turn for the better in recent times, with a flood of extreme talent reviving the genre and making it something of their own. And Aussie blues-rockers The Vernons have done just that and more with their latest single 'I Want Her Back At Home,' highlighting each members sublime musicianship, proving all the more that they’re one of the best rising blues-inspired bands the country has to offer." -- Happy (Australia, March 2015)

Biography

Sculpting their sound from long nights out, hung-over days in, and their parents’ old vinyl records, The Vernons distil a distinctly modern blues-rock sound and have been compared to The Black Keys, Jack White and Kings of Leon.  The band’s recordings, so far spread across two EP releases, have been critically acclaimed around Australia and in the United States, where Esquire Magazine insisted to its readers: “Remember, you heard 'em here first.”

The Vernons live shows are captivating and wildly popular with the band’s growing legion of fans.  Always full of energy, performances sweep the audience along largely in a frenzy of animated interactivity.  In addition to successful headline tours behind the band’s single and EP releases, The Vernons have supported other acts across the genres, sharing the stage with Wolfmother, Seasick Steve, The Rubens, Wolf & Cub, Hoodoo Gurus, Stonefield and Ash Grunwald.  The band also played major Australian festival, Big Day Out.
