"I Want Her Back At Home (single and video)"

The world of modern-blues has taken a significant turn for the better in recent times, with a flood of extreme talent reviving the genre and making it something of their own. And Aussie blues-rockers The Vernons have done just that and more with their latest single "I Want Her Back At Home", highlighting each members sublime musicianship, proving all the more that they’re one of the best rising blues-inspired bands the country has to offer. - Happy Magazine (Australia)

"Volume II (EP)"

Ripper new tracks filled with heavy distortion and sick licks that will impress any rock enthusiasts. - AU Review (Australia)

"Big Day Out (performance)"

With a sound that invoked the ghosts of bygone eras, they delivered a set well beyond their years and their time slot.. - Nova FM Online (Australia)

"Volume I (EP)"

Time and time again, you’ll hear a band say that they like to stick to “their roots.” Once you actually sit down and listen to that band, you can hear some stuff that gives you that idea, here and there. That’s why The Vernons are such a treat! They stick to their roots the whole way through. With influences like Gary Clarke Jr. and The Alabama Shakes, this group of blues rockers from Queensland really know how to catch an ear in a youthful music scene that is hard to get by. Be sure to check out the band’s latest. After all, we here at Highlight recommend nothing but the best! - Highlight Magazine (USA)

"Black Bear Lodge (performance)"

Front man Jonny’s vocals are crisp, clear and damn well delivered. No joking around, this kid has put in a lot of hard work to get his pipes sounding so smooth. They had clearly worked their asses off to get to this point and it showed. - Something from the Scene (Australia)

"White Wine (single and video)"

What you need to know is that they're young, they're good, and, well, let's be frank: their video for "White Wine," premiering right here, is sexy in a way that harks back to the golden days of MTV, interspersing live clips and a beautiful woman teasingly being beautiful, with just enough of a story to keep it flowing. Remember, you heard 'em here first. - Esquire Magazine (USA)

"White Wine (single)"

The Vernons will make any lover of rock n roll happy. The Gold Coast band of four keep their music worthy of the day with tinges of upper range ‘The 1975′ style rock, swirling amongst the blues. It’s radio worthy out of the box. - Daystune (USA)

"Volume I (EP)"

There are few things greater than awesome new music, which is why we’re so excited to share our newest discovery, The Vernons! Catchy beats and irresistible guitar riffs, riveting vocals, and elements from multiple genres combine to create some truly addicting music. - You, Me & Charlie (USA)

"Standing In Line (single)"

Standing In Line is the summer equivalent of cracking open a beer in a pool you snuck into. - MTV Buzzworthy (USA)

"Standing In Line (single)"

This isn’t your dad’s classic rock, but we’ve got a feeling about these guys and think they just might be headed to classic status. - Nylon Guys Magazine (USA)

Bio

Sculpting their sound from long nights out, hung-over days in, and their parents’ old vinyl records, The Vernons distil a distinctly modern blues-rock sound and have been compared to The Black Keys, Jack White and Kings of Leon.  The band’s recordings, so far spread across two EP releases, have been critically acclaimed around Australia and in the United States, where Esquire Magazine insisted to its readers: “Remember, you heard 'em here first.”

The Vernons live shows are captivating and wildly popular with the band’s growing legion of fans.  Always full of energy, performances sweep the audience along largely in a frenzy of animated interactivity.  In addition to successful headline tours behind the band’s single and EP releases, The Vernons have supported other acts across the genres, sharing the stage with Wolfmother, Seasick Steve, The Rubens, Wolf & Cub, Hoodoo Gurus, Stonefield and Ash Grunwald.  The band also played major Australian festival, Big Day Out.
