Bio

Stevenson as many other dj's before him stared playing music at an early age. His first love was the clarinet. (coincidentally, same as Felix Da Housecat, but I digress..)

As the years went by he learned more and more instruments and more and more about music in general. Jazz. Funk. Pop. Rock. Classical. He took it all in. His favorites were Prince, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Incognito, and Level 42.

Then in 1986, he heard "Love Can't Turn Around" at a club in East Orange, NJ.

Stevenson was introduced to House.

Though frequently listening to house and frequenting clubs, He was far more known to the music scene as a funk musician, opening for acts such as The Time, Incognito, Fishbone, Van Hunt, Roy Ayres, Blur, and Jamiroqui.

It wasn't till Stevenson was 31 when he actually began DJing, though he had done many private events previously.

He started in Portland, Or., and then began to dj throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

Now, DJing and Producing under the moniker The Version Suicides, Stevenson finds himself in the birthplace of the song that set him on his journey over two decades ago.

His production work includes remixes for Amanda Palmer, Olivia Broadfield, DJ Matthew1626, and Dezmond Meeks.

Though he's well versed in R&B, Classic Rock, Funk, Soul, and several other genres, his love of blending Soulful House, Deep House, & Garage is what sets him apart from most djs.

With pending projects featuring Dezmond Meeks and an EP due out in early 2014, it is clear that…
….Groove Is Inevitable.
