Bio

In the cold wet month of late September 2006, The Vice was born. A rag-doll outfit of musicians, poets, schoolboys and performers that wanted to show some muscle to a music scene they deemed “over crowded.” With gigs all over the South of England and recordings from the hills of Somerset to the back alleys of Reading, The Vice began to mature. With line up changes, musical differences and a lot of cigarettes, spit and magnetic tape, they are now a well established name on the up coming scene.

A year on and with a lot more hair between them and a band of two combined families, the six of them began to turn heads scoring gigs headlining at legendary venues like Camden Barfly and the last act of Guilfest ‘07. Support slots with names like The Wombats, Six Nation State and Laura Marling proved these boys can brawl with the best. The quintet threw the blinkers off and began shovelling influences from all avenues into the pressure cooker. Curbing blues root the boys blew the dust off a raw punk rawkusness and danced around a maypoll of chorestral melody. Kind of like Mary Poppins being hit by a depth charge. The emphasis being on grass roots songwriting and avoiding the follies of fashion music, the troupe blended the likes of “The Kings of Leon” with “Devendra Banhart” and “RHCP” with “Black Sabbath”. Their three guitar, five vocal, all guns blazing line up combined with heartbreaks and smiles turns heads wherever they go.
