Bio

The Villanova Junction was formed in October 2005 by rhythm guitarist and vocalist Frank Murray and lead guitarist Ben Sokol, with the intention of bringing good music back to the airwaves. After trying out different drummers and bassists, they finally completed the band with the addition of bassist Brendan Johnson and drummer Matt Graham. The band started right away and has accumulated an arsenal of original tunes. They have played multiple venues in their local area of Clifton Park and Albany, such as Northern Lights, Saratoga Winners, The Bayou Café, Hotshots, Savannah's, Backstreet Billiards and many more. They are starting to play more shows in New York City as well, at such clubs as The Lion's Den.

The band has a very wide variety of musical influences. Influences range from classic artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, to more modern groups such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band and Pearl Jam. All the members are experienced with playing their instrument and playing live. In July of 2006 the band went into the studio and created their first EP album, Slow Motion Fist Fight. It contains 5 of the many songs they have created over their time together and expresses what the band is about. From the blistering solos of Ben Sokol, to the groove and movement provided by the rhythm section, to the energy and soul of Frank’s vocals, the band provides an awesome live show.
