""This project is a New York musician’s dream...""

This project is a New York musician’s dream as Brooklyn’s best come together around The Voices of Promise with their aces in hand. The band features some of the most talented musicians this side of the Atlantic with not only Butch Heyward, James Hall and Melvin Crispell offering important contributions, but also underground supermen such as Martin Christie who produced the project together with executive producers Jonathan Hall and Rev. David Butler. Other notables include bassist Dwayne Wright, whose name alone should set bells off in your head because he is the son of New York’s godfather of gospel, the incomparable Rev. Timothy Wright. He is joined on the bass by “New York workhorse” Justin Cunningham. Percussions are manned by the rhythmic ministrations of Stephen Hall, young drumming sensation Isaiah Johnson and Eddie Heyward while the brassy punctuations of the horns section is brought home by Craig Crawford and his boys. - Blackgospel.com

Bio

The Voices of Promise came to be, as a group of local church teens who decided to form a youth choir to record a surprise CD for their pastor. Within 60 days of their first CD's release they were on their first tour hitting 5 cities in 6 days from Virginia to Georgia.

V.O.P., as they are affectionately known, has toured over 30 cities in 12 states in less than 5 years spreading joy and Godly good will wherever they go.

Their sophomore release, "Live in Savannah, GA-Heaven" on the IMOK Gospel Music record label is distributed by Central South Distribution and will go nationwide March of 2011..

In 2009 they were honored to be called down to BET/CBS Studios in NYC to tape an appearance for the BET 106th and Park spin off, 106th and Gospel for an episode to air during the month of February 2009 featuring Tye Tribbett.

The Voices of Promise are the torch bearers of that classic hard hitting, in your face, Brooklyn sound for this up and coming youth choir generation. They promise to be a blessing for years to come.
