Bio

After being friends for nearly a decade, saying that Matt Ryan and Steele Strader are close is a rediculous understatement. The two met at a local private school after Matt moved to Steele's hometown of
Lakeland, FL due to his father having a job transfer. Soon after this, they realized that they shared a common love for music and began playing music together in the summer of '03. Little did they know that Matt's relocation would forever alter their future and spawn a bond that would transcend their friendship.
The duo began to take their music seriously when they were introduced to two like-minded individuals who also shared their passion for music. In February '05, The Vow, with Matt Ryan at the helm as primary song-writer, vocalist, pianist, and Steele Strader's co-writing and multi-instrumental ability, the stage had been set and The Vow began.
Soon therafter, the band successfully recorded two eps, including "Throwing The Maps" (produced by Stephen Christian of Anberlin), and a digital ep entitled "Silhouettes" (mixed by Aaron Marsh of Copeland).
The band has enjoyed independant success, playing well over 400 shows, selling over 2,000 copies of "Throwing The Maps", and touring across the country (most recently with Manic Drive (Whiplash records) on a west-coast tour).
This year The Vow spent February-April living in Nashville,TN recording their debut full-length, "The Runaway", with Dove award-winner and musical role-model Nathan Walters (Plus One/solo artist). Currently the band is actively promoting "The Runaway" and
anxiously awaiting it's Fall release.
