Wow talk about a complete 360 on my musical listening intake. I mean here I am listening to a mixtape of dance music and before you know it we at The Frames got in contact with The Walkies record label over in the states and got this fabulous EP from the band who hails from AKRON, Ohio out of all places.

So I’m no expect in bluegrass music, as you know we’re all about four on the floor and grindcore fastness, but we know how to open our ears and our hearts to other genres and give them a chance to penetrate us on aural level……this EP does exactly that.

If you love a good jangle of Banjo, with some smoked hickory laden verses, good guitar hoe-down ish ‘get it done’ ditties…then this EP is for you!

‘Sing Along’ has it all to get your bluegrass party started. Banjos playing at the ninth degree of…well whatever ninth degree banjo playing can go, fun lyrics and just good old fashionable fun down on the barn!

‘Crops ain’t worth a dime’ has a bluegrass lead-in with its guitar solo rumbling in with its furious drumming laying down the foundation of country goodness

‘Going down the valley’ slows it down with its dorsal guitars and lyrics that make you feel like a blue blooded country-alt fan.

‘The Mississippi’ is a favorite of mines as it drives you with the best blues riff guitars with the warmness of a value amp, the ticking of drumsticks, and just some down on the ranch playfulness with of course the obligatory solo put in for good measure.

I seriously can’t say much about this EP except that you would be a complete idiot if you didn’t get yourself a copy of it right now. This is simply the best Bluegrass band that I had the pleasure of hearing. I for one don’t know what the standard of country/alt bluegrass entails, but if it sounds like this….I’ll take it!! - Nerdy Frames
