You really won't believe the number of different tunes you'll hear from The Walk-ins, an originals and cover band that will perform at 10 p.m. Friday at Papa T's, 4660 W 147th St., Midlothian.
Band members Joe Matise, Mike "The Deuce" Michor, Mike Molinets, and Dan Dougherty all hail from the southland, including Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest. Matise, Michor, and Molinets all work as teachers during the day, while Dougherty creates a comic strip called "Beardo."
The band will be fresh off a New Year's Eve gig at North Beach in Downer's Grove. The set list reaches to places that include Pearl Jam, Prince, Eric Clapton, The Black Crowes and Cheap Trick.
The Walk-ins even accept song requests in advance at thewalkins@comcast.net.

The Walk-ins are a harmony driven cover/ original band from Chicago’s south suburbs. The Walk-ins’ set list spans the 50’s through today, and their high energy live shows have been met with rave reviews across the Chicagoland area.
Singer Joe Matise realized early on that he had a knack for performance, and started playing guitar and singing at an early age. Joe currently works as a Middle School teacher, and does a great deal of the behind the scenes work for The Walk-ins. Joe's many influences include The Beatles, Counting Crows, Del Amitri, and Ryan Adams. Joe has performed in many bands over the past years including the Tyson Parker Band, Guilt Trip, and Remedy. Joe is armed with the mic every night with The Walk-ins.
Drummer Mike Molinets began taking private drum lessons at the age of 8 and has continued playing ever since . Mike has been playing drums professionally since 1989. Mike received his Bachelor's Degree in Music from DePaul University, and has studied with some of the great Chicago players, including Joel Spencer and Mike Green. Mike now teaches music full time as a Elementary School Music teacher / Choir Director, and also gives private music instruction. Mike has performed and recorded with a number of great Chicago area bands including STEAM, HITCH, Blind Reality, The Pocket, The Stone Thieves and Remedy. Some of Mike's influences include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Tower of Power, and The Rolling Stones. Mike is behind the drum kit every night for the Walk-ins.
Mike "The Deuce" Michor started playing guitar at 13, and has been obsessed ever since. "The Deuce" is currently a private guitar instructor, and has been teaching for 5 years. Mike's many influences include The Beatles, Paul Gilbert, Stevie Wonder, Nuno Bettencourt, and King's X are reflected every night on stage with The Walk-ins. "The Deuce" has performed in many bands over the past years including Tribe of Thebes, Von Matthews and Proclaim, The Ashley Carroll Band, and Remedy. "The Deuce" is stage right every night with The Walk-ins.
Bass player Dan Dougherty is the newest edition to The Walk-ins! Dan has played in several bands over the years, with the most recent project being Master Of None. Dan is also the creator of the hit comic series Beardo! Dan is on the Bass every night for The Walk-ins!
